It’s time to get thinking of fashion pieces perfect for later summer. For this summer heat (fingers crossed) I am really hoping to see some mix and match patterns throughout outfits.

This time of year it is so easy to mix light weight with mid weight fabrics such as linens with heavy cones or lightweight knits. Relaxed fitting and silhouettes are perfect for hot temperatures. Tierred skirt can never be overused this time of year and can pretty much be worn with everything and dressed up or down for pretty much any occasion - for me definitely an investment piece.

I want to see mini length ditsy floral prints with a cute cami top full of pattern or embellishment. I am hoping to see these styled with a large throw on shoulder tote and some chunky sandals or flats and of course some sunnies on the head - some mini sized oval ones would be perfect. Looking at trends I think this would be a really sweet twist on trends.

Below I have created my ideal look to see this Mid August, I am being optimistic with the weather and very summer focused but I am not ready to be over the bright colours, summer florals and chunky jewellery that looks gorgeous in the sun.

Pink and Blue mixed together as something I am loving right now I am really trying to push myself with colours as for a while I played it very safe with colour after a few years of neon and bold colour blocking; i’m finding a happy middle now.

What I like about the outfit I have created above is really the mix of textures from top to skirt to then added accessories like the bag and charm to a balance of finer textures in the earrings and necklace to bring this outfit together. Pairing this with simply chunky sandals helps to level out the outfit, plus these Coach sandals would make any outfit in summer work well this year so definitely a staple piece to bear in mind. We do just need to take a moment of the bag, please, it is drop dead gorgeous from the fishnet scuba fabric that has been printed on to the textured handle, there is a lot going on here but it work so well. This is a piece that really makes an outfit stand out. A daring pick of mine I do have to say I do normally go for a classic bag style and silhouette but when researching got this outfit I stumbled upon this and my searching stopped it was one of those moments I know it when I see it. From there I really focused the outfit around this bag and c resting a background and layering details from the bag rather than it simply being a quick grab and go tote bag. It did get even better for me when I saw the bag charm! I am loving the bag charms right now and then seeing this on Monsoon I knew it was perfect addition to the bag plus is meant a new colour I could start adding into accessories a nice sky blue.

I wanted to really focus on pieces that layered up really well but also have a few statement pieces that would work well alone to suit people who felt this was too much for them or who wanted to wear the pieces in so many different ways, it can be so easy to buy something and then feel like it only works in one or two outfits, when I’m looking at creating outfits inspiration and styling ideas I want to show how I style off but also leave it up to another persons interpretation

What I’m hoping to see is a mix of textures and patterns this coming moth I want playfulness and a thoughtful maximalist finish. Bright colours layered up on a monochromatic way are such an easy way to do this, even layering up lots of jewellery can be an easy styling extra to really elevate an outfit up to that level.

If you couldn’t tell by this look another current fav of mine is gold hoop earrings, they are always in my favs however this hammered effect is something I am really enjoying seeing, a delicate detail but super chic and outfit elevating. Controversial but I do love a bit of mix metal matching sometimes, i’m more of a gold person but mixing and matching metals is something I o enjoy and even though the blue ring has only a little bit of silver on I think it works well.

Any midi length skirt worn currently is going to be a win for me but this free people skirt has such gorgeous texture I couldn’t not mention it. This mid low rise fit is something I hated for a long time but I have warmed to it and now I cannot get enough especially if a top is just slightly ruched with it … perfection. I really like the rectangle silhouette of this skirt yet how it is contrasted with such lightweight fabric I think this is so flattering. Skirts the have finer detail paired with a larger scale top or vice versa seem to complement each other super well and add a little extra jazz to an outfit which I am here for.
